A downloadable TTRPG

Steampunkfitters was a TTRPG designed to have no dice, no randomizers and still have the result of challenges be unpredictable. What it uses is a trait system but involves the ability to veto certain traits or require others. This creates a mechanistic paper rock scissors system.

So does the game work? Yes. Does it work well? It depends.

The game is challenging to keep all the moves in your head. I think if a group played it a lot, they'd become accustomed to it but there's a shallow learning curve (your knowledge goes up slowly) to playing intuitively.

Where it seems to work really well is in play by post where you can't roll dice or use other randomizers. The slower pace to the game lends itself to slow deliberative moves where you have plenty of time to embrace the mechanics.

It's more of a curiosity to me at this point. I like the ideas and steal from them from time to time but it's not something I'm promoting. Everything is Creative Commons so if there's something you like, you're free to take from it too.
