Protector

Protector is an alternate history supers game. It uses an upgraded version of the Energy System that I used in Jump Temp. There's some really cool ideas in the book. I liked how it handled super powers that had limited uses but could also be really flexible in the narrative. In the future I would love to reuse the super power descriptions because they handle a lot of powers with not a lot of entries all while giving compelling ideas about how and why the powers work.

Why is it canceled?

The setting proved too sprawling to knit together in a coherent way. All the ages made art impossible for me to get right. Even though the history is hard to put into one book, I really like the arc of it. I'm sure someone could portray it all in a compelling way, but that person isn't me.

Some players had a little trouble conceiving of superpowers as in game "Agents" but most players have a little trouble with Agents in the first place, so I'm not sure if that was a problem with this game.
